Who We Are

Since its origin, the Scouting program has been an educational experience concerned with values. In 1910, the first activities for Scouts were designed to build character, physical fitness, practical skills, and service. These elements were part of the original Cub Scout program and continue to be part of Cub Scouting today

Character development should extend into every aspect of a boy's life. Character development should also extend into every aspect of Cub Scouting. Cub Scout leaders should strive to use the 12 points of the Scout Law throughout all elements of the program—service projects, ceremonies, games, skits, songs, crafts, and all the other activities enjoyed at den and pack meetings

.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

The Liberty, SC Cub Scout Pack holds Den Meetings on the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30pm. Pack Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday at 7:00pm.

These meetings are held at:

Flat Rock Baptist Church

115 Slab Bridge Road

Liberty, SC 29657

The Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

The Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
And to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

It's a GREAT time to be a Scout

Improved activities, easier-to-understand advancement and some sweet-looking handbooks..... yes, Cub Scouting has gotten even better than before.

New Cub Scout content will be broken into a series of “adventures,” which Cub Scouts (individually and as part of their den) will experience while working on their badge of rank.

Once a Cub Scout has completed the six core adventures, including one Duty to God adventure, and one of his/his den’s choosing he will have earned his badge of rank.

In addition to the adventures required for rank advancement, there will be 13 additional elective adventures that members of the den may earn. Each adventure is designed to take roughly three den meetings to implement, one of which may be an outing, ranging from attending a sporting event as a den, to taking a hike, to visiting a museum or going on a campout. At the conclusion of each adventure, a recognition device is awarded.

Why Join Pack 227

Ask the boys and they will tell you it’s a lot of fun and they’re right. However, while they are having fun a lot of learning and growing occurs. Cub Scouts is a program designed to develop character, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, life skills and strong families. Cub Scouts helps boys learn to be helpful, to respect other people and to strive to do one’s best.

We know that the family is an important influence on the youth of our nation. With that being said, Pack 227 welcomes families to join in all our pack activities and outings. Cub Scouting provides opportunities for families to work and play together, to have fun together, and to get to know each other a little better. It is our mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Safety is also on the forefront of our focus. Pack 227 prides itself in upholding the standards set by the Boy Scouts of America to ensure your scout can explore and learn in a safe, non-threatening environment. Requiring adaquate training of all our leaders, background checks, and enforcing that 2 leaders are to be present with a child at all times creates a welcoming environment for both the scout and their parents.

Character Development, Spiritual Growth, Good Citizenship, Sportsmanship and Fitness, Family Understanding, Respectful Relationships, Personal Achievement, Friendly Service, Fun and Adventure are the main principles of scouting. If this is the environment and program you are interested in for your son, we hope you consider joining Pack 227 in Liberty, SC.
